As one of the four great inventions in ancient China, printing has made an indelible contribution to the spread of human civilization and culture. In 1439, Gutenberg, Germany, made a wooden relief press. Although the vertical screw type hand trigger press was simple in structure, it had been used for 300 years. In 1812, Konig of Germany made the first round flat relief press. In 1847, Hoy invented the rotary press in the United States. In 1900, it made a six color rotary press. In 1904, Rubel invented offset printing Printing machine.
With the development of science and technology, modern printing press is generally composed of plate loading, inking, embossing and paper feeding. The working principle is as follows: firstly, the words and images to be printed are made into plates and installed on the printing press. Then, the ink is applied to the printing plate by manual or printing machine, and then directly or indirectly transferred to paper or other printing materials (such as textiles, metal plates, plastics, leather, wood, glass and ceramics), so as to copy the same words and images as the printing plate.
